For every pair of Hout Style wooden sunglasses sold, a seed will be planted through the Eco-School Programme, one of the many initiatives supported by WWFSA and the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (WESSA).
The seeds are used to educate school children on the importance of trees and “living lightly on our planet” through sustainable practices. They also promote biodiversity. These seeds become indigenous or fruit trees that are then planted on the school grounds. Not only do they provide shade and beauty to the grounds, some of them provide a sustainable source of food too.
At African Angels we empower Women & Youths from poor rural areas with
free beauty skills training, recognised qualifications in beauty and job
placement with the opportunity to become a business owner once
qualified. The journey begins with transformational life coaching and
teaching basic beauty skills. Our organisation then provides entry to
the workplace with job-placement at high-end hospitality and spa
platforms, where the candidates work as skilled therapists in training,
under the mentorship of qualified Spa & Beauty Managers.
Our program identifies candidates who show the will and desire to be more than circumstances have allowed, providing free education, job-placement and enterprise opportunities in business units called Wellness Huts. These mobile units or dedicated spaces are easily adapted to Corporate Wellness Pods for onsite well being and pampering of staff and clients. We transform previously unskilled, unemployed individuals into skilled, qualified professionals with recognised credentials in the Beauty Sector. This is made possible through the registered Beauty School Selah Institute of Health & Beauty, which offers recognised
qualifications endorsed by Services Seta (National) and ITEC
www.itecworld.co.uk (International).
